Are there any fees to offer employees an HSA?

Starting December 1, 2022, Zenefits will charge employers a $ 2.50 per employee per month fee for each employee enrolled in an HSA. There is a minimum monthly fee of $12.50 (the equivalent of 5 HSA-enrolled employees). This means that you will incur a minimum monthly charge of $12.50 as long as you offer an HSA through Zenefits, even if you have less than 5 HSA-enrolled employees. 

For employers who are already offering HSA on Zenefits, the pricing change will go into effect after contract renewal on or after December 1, 2022 (e.g. if your contract renewal date is March 1, 2023, you won’t incur charges until that date).

If companies start their HSA  plan prior to December 1, 2022, there will be no charges until the 1st of the month following your next renewal date (e.g if your renewal date is mid-March, 2023, you will not be charged until April 1, 2023).

The HSA custodian, WealthCare Saver, charges employees a monthly service fee of $ 2 .50. Employers can choose to cover the account maintenance fees by contacting Zenefits Support.
