Some companies require customization of their workforce beyond just Work Locations and Departments. Custom labor groups let you take control of how you'd like to divide your company in a way that makes the most sense for your business.
If your organization treats attributes such as Departments, Locations, and Positions as cost centers, then you may want to allocate codes to these. For example, you may want to assign a code of "SF002" to one of your San Francisco locations.
To create a custom labor group:
- Click on the Addresses & Labor Groups tab from the Company Profile app.
- Click Add Labor Group.
- Enter a custom Group Name (e.g. Division) and Add.
- The new custom labor group will be displayed beneath Work Locations, Departments, and Positions.
If you're not able to add a custom group, please contact our Support team to have this feature enabled. Note that custom groups are only available for Zenefits Payroll customers.
