Companies need a customized, flexible, structure of their workforce. Assigning a work location helps a company with benefits, HR, and payroll tasks.

If your organization treats attributes such as Departments, Locations, and Positions as cost centers, then you should allocate codes to these. For example, you may want to assign a code of "SF002" to one of your San Francisco locations.
