How to Edit the Hire Date

For Administrators

You can edit a hire date in your administrator dashboard. To do this, please follow the steps below:

  1. Select the Directory app
  2. Click on the person's name
  3. Select "Edit Worker Info" under Actions or select Make Changes from the Employment and Compensation section in the employee's profile
  4. Change the hire date 
  5. Continue each step to save the changes for the new hire date

These steps can only be completed if the worker has accepted the offer and completed onboarding. If they have not signed the offer, then you can edit it by following these steps

If your company is synced with Gusto, please correct the hire date within Gusto first, then reach out to Zenefits Customer Care to make the adjustment.

If they will be offered insurance benefits, please check with your broker to make sure that they are enrolled for the correct effective date.
