Primary Care Physician Not in Network

Providers must belong to the carrier's provider network in order to be able to be designated as a Primary Care Physician. This may result in being unable to keep a Primary Care Physician if moving from one carrier to another, or even one network to another network within the same carrier.

How A Provider Joins A Network

There is an application process that providers go through with the insurance carrier in order to be established as an in-network provider, but this is a process that the provider must navigate, and worked out between the provider and the carrier, as there are contracts involved.
