Initiate a termination request as a manager

Managers can initiate a termination request through their dashboard.

  1. From the Zenefits dashboard click the My Team app.

  2. Within the table of employees select the employee that will be terminated.

  3. In the Actions menu, click Terminate.

  4. Select the nature of the termination and enter information about the employee’s last day and reason for termination. The employee’s home mailing address will be pre-populated -- please make corrections if necessary. If the employee was a manager, indicate who their reports should report to after termination.

  5. Click Review & Request Termination.

From here, an email will be sent detailing the termination request and sent to the company's admin or approver(s). The requesting Manager will receive an email once a decision has been made.

If the requestor is not the terminated employee’s direct manager, an email will also be sent to the direct manager. An email will never be sent to the terminated employee.
