Things To Know About the 401(k) Connect Application

  • The Vestwell integration is a 180-degree integration.
  • Clients are responsible for informing Vestwell that they use HR Platform Payroll.
  • With a 180-degree integration, changes made within TriNet to employee information and pay will be sent to Vestwell via 401(k) Connect on your pay date. Except that you must manually manage and update employer contribution changes, employee deferral election, and other data that is not pay or employee data in TriNet. This data is not synced to TriNet.

Who can set up the 401(k) Integration?

To set up this integration, you will need to be a Full Company or Payroll Administrator in the TriNet HR Platform system.

How can I set up the 401(k) Connect for the first time?

1. To set up this integration, a TriNet client needs to initiate the 401(k)-integration request through the 401(k) Connect tile on the TriNet HR Plus platform dashboard.

2. The TriNet Implementation team reaches out to the Vestwell integration team to request configuration information.

3. The Implementation team may send a request to map the company deductions and contributions into the company payroll if needed.

4. The Implementation team will then monitor for payroll data to generate during a testing phase and will notify the Vestwell integration team when a test file has generated.

5. The Vestwell configuration team will review the test file information and provide a data review email for any needed changes that may be needed to the configuration.

6. Once the Vestwell team confirms the integration data is accurate, they will sign off on moving the configuration from the testing status to the Live status.

7. Once marked Live, the configuration is marked complete and further support is managed by the TriNet customer support team.

How to Disconnect the Vestwell Integration

If you would like to disconnect the Vestwell integration with TriNet, you must first contact your assigned Vestwell Onboarding or Servicing representative.
