When someone enters a request for Vacation or Time Off, the number of total hours requested is calculated as:
Number of Working Days x Company's Default Workday = Total Hours Requested
A typical work day is 8 hours. However, the length of a workday may have been defined differently depending on the company's PTO policy.
Changing the Company Default Workday
The primary administrator can change the default workday by following the steps below.
- Click Settings in the Time Off App.
- Select the policy you wish to edit from the drop-down menu.
- Click Hours & Workweek, then click View or Edit Hours
- Adjust the number of hours in a standard workday.
- Click Save.
*The number of hours entered will determine the number of hours deducted from the balance if a full day off is requested.
