How to Clock In, Clock Out and Track Meal Breaks in the Zenefits Mobile App

First, log into your profile using the Zenefits mobile app. You’ll select the Time Clock tab to record your hours.

You can use the mobile app if:

  • you are using the Web-based Timekeeper app
  • you are Self-Reporting your clock in/out time
  • you are Self-Reporting total hours

You will not be able to use the mobile app if you are using the Timekeeper iPad app

Web-based Timekeeper: How to clock in, clock out, and track meal breaks

  1. Open the Time Clock tab (at the bottom navigation bar).
  2. Tap Clock in start your current shift.
  3. If your company utilizes Project Codes you'll be asked to confirm a Project Code.
  4. If your employer utilizes Geolocation, you'll be asked to Enable Location Services.
  5. Tap Take a Break to take a break during your shift. Don't forget to clock back in at the end of your meal break.
  6. Tap Clock out to end your shift for the day.


Self Reporting Clock In/Out: How to Clock in, Clock out and track meal breaks

  1. Open the Time Clock tab (at the bottom navigation bar).
    Note: The Time Clock home page will show you the dates of the current time period. Additionally, it will show you the total number of hours you've worked during that time period, as well as an hours breakdown by date.  
  2. Tap History to see the timesheet.
  3. To enter hours, click on the day you wish to record hours.
  4. Click on the plus button [+]. For Android devices, the plus button is located in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. For iOS devices, the plus button is located in the top right hand corner.
  5. Select the type of activity you will be recording hours for - Work Hours or Meal Break.
  6. Tap on Start Time and End Time to enter the times you worked. It will automatically default to the current time. 
  7. Confirm your hours look correct and click Submit.


Self Reporting Total Hours: How to Clock in, clock out and track meal breaks

  1. Open the Time Clock tab (at the bottom navigation bar).

  2. Tap History to see the timesheet.
  3. To enter hours, click on the day you wish to record hours.
  4. Click on the plus button [+]. For Android devices, the plus button is located in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.  For iOS devices, the plus button is located in the top right hand corner.
  5. Select the type of hours - Work Hours or Meal Break
  6. Enter the total number of hours worked (8 hours, 6.5 hours) and click Next.
  7. Confirm the hours recorded and click Submit.


*Meal breaks are recorded as unpaid. 
**At this time there is no way to record paid breaks


Note: If you don't have Time & Attendance activated, you can find it under the More tab on your iOS  phone or under your  Account tab on your Android. You will need to talk to your company admin to get it activated.
